Tarot Card Reader Gives Life To Jesus in New Orleans!
As I walked by her tarot card table in New Orleans' Jackson Square around midnight, Audrey called out, "What is RAVEN?" I turned to see a young woman seated at a tarot card and psychic reading table. Heading back towards her I began sharing with her about our ministry in reaching the lost and dying for Jesus.

I was quite suprised at her interest in the subject matter (as I have had numerous confrontations with tarot card and voodoo practioners in the French Quarter). As I shared the Word of God with her you could immediately see her coming under conviction. She told me, "I know that I need Jesus in my life too."
.
Giving her the plan of salvation she responded by pointing to her table of enchantments and saying, "I know that THIS is not compatible with serving God is it?" Within a few minutes she was praying with us to recieve Christ into her heart!
.
The next thing somewhat SHOCKED me! She gathered up all of the enchantments (tarot cards, crystals, and figurines) and wrapped them in the table cloth and gave them to me! "Here--get rid of this. I'm done with it", she said as she stood to her feet. Soon she was folding up the table and chairs and giving them away too!
.
We met with her the next day and are going to be working with here to get her solidified in the faith! Please keep her in your prayers as she also has a 10 month old and 3 year old to take care of as well. That table and those cards were here livlihood---and she was willing to leave all to follow Jesus!

Myrza Belle Tow
June 17, 1906 – August 5, 2007
I received word at 4:00 AM (EST) that my Grandmother had gone to be with the Lord Jesus. My parents and a couple of my cousins were there with her when she quietly passed in her sleep.I want to thank all of you who prayed for her and the family since her fall and subsequent broken leg last week. Your faith and words of encouragement have meat so much to me and our family. I want to especially thank me dear friends, Pastor Don & Robin Dykes of Raven Amarillo and “Raven” Deb who spent time praying over her and reading the Word to her in what proved to be some of her last hours.
My Grandmother was our families living history book while she was with us. Her live spanned over a century and she lived from the Teddy Roosevelt administration to George Bush’s second term of office. Her life coincided with the 1st World War and she lived to see the Middle Eastern Conflict of the Gulf War and many things in between.
One of the things that has stood out in this grandson and preacher’s mind is that she was born at the onset of the great Azusa Street revival of 1906 that was pivotal in seeing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit throughout the world. My hope and prayer was that this grand lady who was born during one tremendous season of revival would live to see another before her home-going. Perhaps her death will serve as a catalyst for such.
John 12:24 “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
Her life produced may “seeds” that I am believing will bring forth much fruit. May the Lord Jesus use the “seed” of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grand children be lasting testimonies that will impact this world and the Kingdom to follow.
Her funeral will be held in Amarillo, Texas this coming Wednesday at 1:00 PM (CST) at River Road Fellowship Church located at 500 Willow Creek Dr.
I will be flying out of Daytona Beach that same morning to preach the funeral before returning home the next day and then flying out to New Orleans on Friday to minister on the streets this coming weekend.
Your prayers for the trip and for our family are much appreciated. I am believing the Lord Jesus Christ that souls will be saved at her funeral on Wednesday just as they will be on Bourbon Street just a few days later.

Update on Pastor Troy's Grandmother
Pastor Don & Robin Dykes of Raven Amarillo went to visit my grandmother, Myrza Tow, in the hospice this morning and sent me this report.

I can not tell you how blessed we were when we went to visit Granny this morning. The Glory of the Lord fell and her spirit was testifying of whom she believes in the entire time we were there. I've been telling everyone about her wanting a yellow dress with a back on it, she said the one she had on didn't have a back. It was so sweet! .

Prayer Request
This is my grandmother, Myrza Tow, who just turned 101 years old on June 17th. This past week she fell from her wheelchair and broke her leg at the ankle. She also injured her arm in the fall as well. This was very traumatic to her whole body and she is now doing very poorly..
They have now moved her to a hospice location and have sedated her to cope with the pain of the injury. They are not able to set the leg because of the brittleness of her bones due to her age. My mother called me earlier today and said that they were calling the family together because it didn't appear that she had long to live.

My grandmother has obviously lived a very long life. She was actually born just a few months after the beginning of the Azusa Street Revival broke out in Los Angeles in 1906. She has given her life to Jesus and I am confident that she is spiritually ready to go. My concern is not if she goes, but how she goes to be with the Lord.
.
Too many times those working in hospice enviroments try to play a god-like role when there is someone there of my grandmother's age and condition. They will sometimes "medicate" them to the degree that they are basically "overdosed" and their body shuts down prematurely---even if only days or weeks prematurely.
.
My grandmother has lived too long, and has exeperienced too much in her life to enter eternity oblivious to her surroundings and to her family. Please pray with me that if this is her time to go and be with Jesus--then they will not have to over-medicate her to combat the pain and that her final hours or days will be with the same sharpness of mind that she has had for over 100 years. She deserves that much.

THAT is how a tire is supposed to look! I just want to thank the Lord Jesus and our friends who blessed us to be able to put a WHOLE NEW SET of tires on our van AND have the front end aligned as well today! There is no longer the "high speed shimey" (when you go over 45 MPH). Thank you all again for "Keeping us rolling for the Kingdom!"
