A Tale of Three Cities

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way- in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only." Charles Dickens
While Dicken's wrote A Tale of Two Cities describing events surrounding the French Revolution, Raven Ministries wrote another chapter of A Tale of Three Cities surrounding the Spiritual Revolution that is taking place on the streets of this nation through our coast-to-coast ministry teams.
Dicken's description of his day and age highlighted the two extremes facing those living in that era: "The Best of Time, the worst of times; Age of Foolishness, epoch of belief; Season of Light, season of darkness..." We have found that the conditions of this world have changed little in the past several hundred years--and if anything--the gap between the two has widened with a cold, compromising middle entrenching itself in the ever increasing void left behind.
This past Friday Night our Raven Teams took the BEST of TIMES, THE EPOCH of BELIEF, THE SEASON of LIGHT and the SPRING OF HOPE into three cities stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf Coast and all the way to the Atlantic. While our locations may have been seperated by thousands of miles and three time zones...our messages were all the same: "Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth and the only life and unless you repent you will (as Dickens so ably said) "go directly the other way."
At each location we saw: the hungry fed, the homeless and outcast loved and ministered to, and the Gospel of the Kingdom preached to a lost, dying and hurting world. At each location we saw: receptive hearts, hungry souls, and desperate situations with only one hope and one answer: Jesus!
This Tale of Three Cities is only the beginning of the task that the Lord Jesus has set before us as a ministry. In the next year we are believing the Lord Jesus to raise up and establish teams that will simultaneously be taking Jesus as the steets of every major city and reagion of this Nation on a regular basis. The time is short and the hour is NOW.
